Regular cleaning of fabric furnishings by Do it Green certified professionals can help restore your furniture’s appearance, extend its life, and keep it looking like new.

We will pre-inspect your furniture to identify the fabric’s construction, content and age and recommend the appropriate cleaning method and procedure.

Furniture and fabric manufacturers recommend that consumers not wait until severe soiling occurs before cleaning is accomplished. The greater the soiling, the less the likelihood of restoring the original color, appearance and texture of the fabric – and the greater the adverse effect on indoor environmental quality.

We recommended that every 12 to 24 months to professionally clean your upholstered furniture; increased cleaning frequency may be required when fabric is subjected to heavy use, or when it is located in homes occupied by persons with allergies or respiratory sensitivity or with pets.

Tips:

  • Blot up spills as soon as they happen with a dry, white cloth or white paper towels, using a light touch. Turn or replace the cloth or towels frequently. Excessive pressure can push liquid deeper into the fabric.
  • Don’t use a wet cloth initially to clean a dry spill. Instead, remove with a soft brush or vacuum with a brush attachment. Mud should be allowed to dry, and then gently scraped away before vacuuming.
  • You can minimize wear and tear by vacuuming and rotating cushions weekly.

  • Avoid positioning furniture in direct sunlight to minimize fading, and keep it at least 15 inches away from vents or fireplaces, which could cause over-drying and cracking, especially in the case of leather upholstery.
